Here’s a stunning Autumn Wedding at Saint Anthony Parish and the Essex Resort & Spa in Burlington, Vermont. I can’t wait for you to read more about this couple’s joyful day, including the “first touch,” the beautiful ceremony and reception, and all the little moments in between. I actually also wrote a blog about this couple’s engagement shoot, a complementary service I offer in my wedding packages! Click here to view their beautiful photos in Shelburne, Vermont!
We started with some detail photos at the bride’s home. I didn’t want to be in the way, so I found a quiet area to capture the beauty of the rings, shoes, and all of the other little accessories! After a first look with her dad and her mother helping her with the dress, she shared some beautiful little gifts with each of them. Meanwhile at St Anthony Parish, my second shooter captured candid moments of the groom and the best man getting ready in the church sacristy.
Some couples want a moment together before the wedding ceremony but still prefer to keep the tradition of seeing each other walk down the aisle. A first touch is a great alternative to a first look for these clients. A close friend of the bride guided her to the side entrance of St Anthony Parish where they wouldn’t be interrupted by wedding guests. They also exchanged letters and spent a quiet moment beside each other. Sometimes the wedding day can feel busy and intense, so it’s important to put a little time into your day to be away from the guests and just be present with your partner.
This couple chose to have a ceremony with incense, chant, and a solemn, yet joyful liturgy. Every little detail was full of meaningful symbolism and traditions, something the couple prioritized in their wedding day.
After doing some formal portraits of the family and the bridal party, the couple drove away in a vintage car to the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, also in Burlington. I loved getting a variety of up-close and wide-angled photos so they could have a variety of different perspectives to choose from. We then headed off to the Essex Resort and Spa to continue!
Taking the bridal couple portraits at the Essex was wonderful, especially given all the picturesque parts of the property. Many areas were beautifully manicured and maintained while some spots were thoughtfully left rustic and natural. Having both options is wonderful so couples can enjoy a variety of images. There were also so many trees with bright autumn foliage, exactly what the couple wanted for their autumn wedding!
At the reception hall, I captured photos of lots of details, including the little glass bottles of maple syrup, a perfect wedding favor for their guests. Many family and friends came from out of state and there is no better way to welcome them to Vermont than with a container of delicious maple syrup!
After the usual reception rituals, the couple enjoyed a final dance together. Meanwhile, the guests gathered outside to bid the bride and groom farewell. As the bride and groom ran out of the reception hall, family and friends tossed rose petals. What a beautiful celebration!

Here is a list of wedding vendors that I worked alongside. The wedding couple highly recommended all of them! I also had a wonderful experience on the wedding day due to their professionalism and services.
