The Wedding Day

Hey! I’m a wedding photographer in the Boston area, and I want to show you this beautiful gay microwedding I documented last fall. This wedding took place at the charming chapel at the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover, Massachusetts.

Their wedding day started with a first look, then some boutonnieres as their family arrived at the chapel grounds.

The wedding ceremony in the chapel was beautiful. One of the mothers played the organ and sang, rings were blessed, unity candle was lit, and finally, vows and rings were exchanged.

After some bridal party and family photos, we took some more photos around the chapel and the West Parish Garden Cemetery grounds.

The night ended with a celebratory dinner and cake cutting at the Spring Hill Suites Devens Common Center. What a beautiful and touching reception and way to end a beautiful day.

Is it normal to get married at a Cemetery?

Getting married at a chapel is actually quite normal, and this venue is beyond ordinary in every good way. The beautiful grounds, Tiffany windows, and charming atmosphere are absolutely stunning. And while some couples may lean into the cemetery vibe, you can also use the space without having graves or tombs be a part of your wedding. There aren’t any tombstones by the chapel and it was easy to document without showing graves in the photos. If anything, it just makes your wedding exta peaceful!

As a Queer Couple, Does it Matter which Vendors you work with?
